Ryan Thompson

After some school­ing in Fine Arts and Graph­ic Design, my career began in assort­ed graph­ic design focused roles, before start­ing my own design bou­tique with a part­ner and a small team, which we ran suc­cess­ful­ly for 15 years. As a stu­dio, we had a focus on brand­ing and design for print for a wide range of clients, from local mom & pop oper­a­tions to tel­com and real estate devel­op­ment. This was fol­lowed by gigs as a PM for an ecom­merce plat­form com­pa­ny, then co-found­ing an inter­net start­up (think Groupon for Date expe­ri­ences), fol­lowed by a brief stint in the build­ing con­struc­tion trade (scratch­ing an itch to work with my hands). Most of these lat­er roles involved a high degree of all aspects of run­ning a com­pa­ny, from oper­a­tions and account­ing to mar­ket­ing and busi­ness development.

I was hired into my cur­rent role based on my pre­vi­ous expe­ri­ences work­ing ​“on” the busi­ness, and to sup­port the needs of a busy man­ag­er with a fast grow­ing team of contractors.

Out­side the office I’m like­ly found in an out­rig­ger canoe, on a moun­tain bike or hik­ing into the alpine.
