Project benchmarking 101

Projects, process, and people health

When we think of benchmarking in project management, we often pin our progress to time, scope, and budget. But this trifecta, while handy, doesn’t give you the full picture when it comes to project health. Find out how projects, productivity, and turnover rates can make or break you.

When you track the right project benchmarking metrics, you gain deeper insight into whether or not your projects—and your people—are healthy. But with so many possible benchmarks and data points to track, where should you start?

This Benchmarking 101 talk delivered by Rachel Gertz at the Vancouver Digital Project Managers Meet-up answers burning questions like:

  • What do “healthy projects” really look like?
  • Is productivity a reliable project benchmark? (It’s not)
  • Which commonly overlooked project management metrics should you track? (Turnover rates, employee stress factor, etc)
  • How do you know when it’s time to push for change and when you should walk away?
